Join the Advanced Research Center EHS team to champion safety and environmental excellence. In this role, you will support all EHS programs and processes, ensuring a safe workplace through proactive risk management and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Support the identification and control of workplace hazards using the hierarchy of controls. Facilitate risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and Management of Change (MOC) for new equipment and experiments.
  • Collaboration: Partner with research and facilities teams to integrate EHS standards into daily workflows and special projects.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Support EHS inspections and internal audits. Document findings, ensure corrective actions are completed on time, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver EHS training. Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
  • Incident Investigation: Support incident reporting and "learning teams." Facilitate root-cause investigations and assist with the implementation of preventive measures to ensure incidents do not recur.
  • Contractor Safety: Support contractor safety programs, including onboarding, hazard planning, and high-risk permits (e.g., LOTO, Hot Work).
  • Environmental Stewardship: Support environmental programs, including waste management, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting (EPCRA/TRI).
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Use EHS software to help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and the reporting of safety trends to site leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related field.
  • Alternative: High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in EHS or 5 years of relevant military experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience managing risks associated with electrical safety, control of hazardous energy (LOTO), robotics, hazardous chemicals/gases, and pressure systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and lead projects from start to finish.
  • Experience organizing and executing safety programs across a site.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $99,200.00 and $165,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
