Job Description Summary

Essential Responsibilities
The senior site director carries out the GVH elements of the DNNP project regarding health, safety and environment, schedule, budget and contract obligations.
You report to the DNNP GVH deputy project director as part of the IPD.

Job Description

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Manage the site team: Site Organization, Rules, Timely Mobilization /Demobilization of GVH personnel
  • Timely adapt/ optimize GVH site organization in line with project execution and possible variation of hypothesis
  • Provide the focal point contact for the customer, IPD partner; vendor's; subcontractors on all site related issues, including technical advice, and construction/commissioning execution strategy, to ensure on time and on budget accomplishment of project/customer requirements
  • With support of GVH staff (Civil, M&E and commissioning team) manage field execution including the management of subcontractor(s) (civil work, heavy lift, construction, commissioning assistance...) to ensure all project performance requirements, quality, EHS, schedule, and budget are achieved
  • Manage site cost within budget; respect GVH staff plan budget and manage cost of quality, local purchasing process.
  • Set up EHS plan with EHS manager to ensure respect of EHS and LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) rules for all site execution involved parties: subcontractor(s); vendor(s)
  • Develop and regularly update a construction & commissioning strategy shared with site team and project management.
  • Review and monitor Site detailed schedule to ensure compliance with the contract requirements; adapt strategy and develop with team mitigation plan when required to minimize slippage and /or over runs.
  • Provide on time and accurate site report of execution progress to project management using GVH reporting tool.
  • Anticipate issues: Identify performance, quality or EHS issues and analyze causes with support site team develop and implement risk mitigation and resolution actions,
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction (respect of contract, of quality, of timeline and of adequate reporting)
  • Ensure TOP (Turn Over Process: transfer from construction to commissioning) and punch list process properly implemented and timely resolution of punch item with objective of limited outage and zero punch item at COD (Commercial Operation Date)
  • Ensure with supports of HR, engineering and team that site is executed in full compliance with local laws, rules and specifications.
  • Ensure that existing Lessons Learned are applied and new ones captured
  • Mobilize/demobilize GVH site facilities, office equipment, utilities, security
  • Implement with site purchaser administrator site C&C administrative processes in alignment with local requirements,
  • Ensure the GVH supplied material is properly managed by IPD partner / subcontractors/ vendors,
  • Ensure the site Quality Program is implemented, with support of the site quality manager and team.
  • Conduct all GVH business activities on site in strict accordance with all Company integrity policies

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Certified Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Proven experience of 10+ years in site management; (ideally with both construction and commissioning lead positions) with a minimum of one or two large projects (400M$ +) in the position of the overall site manager.
  • A proven technical experience and background in heavy machinery or thermal equipment is a must.

  • The work location will be at our site in Markham, ON, Canada. Relocation assistance provided.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $160K and $210K CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
