Role & Responsibilities:
The Direct Material Lead will be responsible for managing all direct materials required for the installation, maintenance, and operation of Haliade X wind turbine generators at the Doggerbank offshore wind farm. This role ensures the efficient procurement, inventory management, and coordination of direct materials to support the project's objectives. Additionally, the Direct Material Lead will manage a team of Direct Material Coordinators.
Material Procurement:
- Identify and source direct materials required for the Haliade X wind turbine generators.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of direct materials at the O&M base.
- Implement inventory control systems to track material usage and forecast future needs.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of up to 5 Direct Material Coordinators.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on project needs and individual strengths.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to ensure their professional development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to align material needs with project timelines.
- Communicate material status and updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure all material-related documentation is accurately maintained and up-to-date.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all procured materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Work with quality assurance teams to conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials.
Logistics and Transportation:
- Coordinate the transportation of materials from suppliers to the O&M base and offshore locations.
- Ensure materials are properly packaged and labeled for safe transport.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all material procurement and management activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare and present reports on material status, inventory levels, and procurement performance.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors' Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in material management, preferably in the renewable energy or offshore wind industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in material management software and tools.
- Fluency in English language
