Design Liaison Engineer (m/f)
Job Description Summary
The Gas Turbine Design Liaison Engineering Team is the face of Gas Turbine Engineering to supply chain.
The Design Liaison Engineer (DLE) plays a key role in the Gas Turbine Engineering team providing technical support to Manufacturing and Sourcing functions. Responsibilities include addressing technical non-conformance issues affecting functionality, quality and producibility of components, lean activities, cost out, qualification rigor, NPI support, global support for fulfillment.
The DLE is the key contact for Design Engineering, Manufacturing and Sourcing teams.
This job is linked to Gas Turbine Combustion or Hot Gas Path Static components.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide Engineering dispositions on NCNs & SDRs.
- Have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
- Consults Global DLEs, TL, CTH teams for issues outside of defined instructions/scope.
- Ensure Engineering presence in the shop.
- Lead pre-emptive efforts to improve quality and reduce deviations.
- Support lean activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical or equivalent
- Several years of experience in fabrication/Quality/Engineering department (at least 2 years)
Desired Characteristics
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and global environment, to influence and to coordinate the different functions involved
- Experience and familiarity with manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing methods
- Good English level
