Job Description Summary

The Customs Special Programs Leader is responsible for leading duty savings programs, initiatives, and projects in support of compliance with the Customs Enterprise Standard. This role supports customs compliance activities at the Global, Regional, Country, and Business levels.
The position requires strong expertise in U.S. customs special programs, a demonstrated compliance mindset, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to deliver measurable duty savings while mitigating compliance risk.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

NAM-specific responsibilities:

1. Own the end-to-end process between business, BPOs (EY FTA and JM Drawback) and customs brokers for refund and duty savings programs.

2. Lead & Deliver training on new duty savings opportunities and cost-reduction initiatives.

3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance) to implement customs optimization strategies

4. Develop, implement and maintain refund processes involving the business, broker, BPOs and US Customs Border Protection (CBP)

5. Establish, document, and maintain Special Programs and Refund SOPs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards..

Global responsibilities - Special Program Governance Global:

1. Provide governance and oversight for customs special programs within Grid (FTA, Duty Drawback, FTZ, Temporary Importation)

2. Reinforce customs fundamentals, with particular emphasis on Country of Origin and Customs Valuation.

3. Coordinate with Regional leaders on savings tracking and reporting to demonstrate program effectiveness and value.

4. Ensure strict adherence to applicable customs laws and regulations to mitigate compliance risks and avoid penalties.

5. Support internal audits related to Special Programs, driving compliance, remediation and continuous improvement.

Recommended Quals

End-to-end ("wing-to-wing") expertise across U.S. customs processes and special programs

• Strong, demonstrated compliance mindset

• Proven ability to apply knowledge, experience, and judgment to make accurate and timely decisions

• Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrated capability to implement practical, simplified process improvements

• Experience working with global teams and a demonstrated global mindset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence without direct authority

Min qualities.

• Years of experience (e.g., 5 years in U.S. customs compliance or trade operations)

• Education or certification (e.g., Bachelor's degree, LCB, CCS, or equivalent experience)

• Tools/systems exposure (e.g., ACE, SAP GTS, broker platforms)

• duty savings achieved, audit outcomes, compliance metrics followed.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $74,400.00 and $124,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
