Civil Works Design Coordinator

Job Description Summary

Manage, conduct, co-ordinate the civil works design (GE Vernova internal and
external participants / stakeholders) on behalf of CW project manager and in liaison
with EM design coordinator, with respect to costs, risk management, project budget,
documents tools/configuration, internal stakeholders, deadlines and quality and with
the objective to deliver the civil works defined in the contract to the customers at least
cost.

What You Will Do

• Manage the CW Design, Review and Coordination in the ITO / OTR Phases for GEV work-packages in MEA Region and KSA mainly.
• Lead & Coach a multi-cultural cross-functional project team (GEV Internal / External Participants) composed of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls (cost & planning), Finance, Contract Management.
• Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management: Establishes, implements and monitors the CW design Quality Plan, Client Approval Procedures and timeline, while taking the safety by design into the CW design aspects as essential.
• Risk and Opportunities: Defines Risks and opportunities to be considered during the CW design phase either in ITO or OTR phases, with follow up till the end of the design process.
• Project Planning: Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule related to the CW design activities.
• Exercise commercial and finance controls during the CW design phase with regular reporting and forecasting of project metrics and KPIs (In case needed).
• Ensure the coordination of technical support/engineering, and up to the onsite construction activities.

What Do You Bring

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
• Expert knowledge of CW design activities & process with min 7 years in HV S/S industry in Gulf countries / KSA.
• Good technical knowledge of CW design international standards, especially the design standards applicable by SEC.
• Ability to work effectively across functions.
• Financial acumen, knowledge of pricing, costing, CW design quantities control, and design risks and opportunities.
• Ability to understand and improve complex processes in a cross-functional environment.
• Experience in carrying out market assessments and subsequently developing and implementing relevant commercial strategies that facilitate market penetration within the assigned countries.
• Working knowledge in Sales Force/SPEAK environment
• Track record of overachieving CW design activities and MEP coordination within MEA region, Gulf countries and preferably KSA.
