Job Description

GE Vernova Gas Power assignments provide students with opportunities to work with experienced leaders in the following areas: Design Engineering, Chief Engineering and Training Office. In addition to challenging productivity projects, these assignments provide interns the opportunity to build leadership and functional skills through challenging assignments, training, and networking activities.

Essential Responsibilities

As a Chief Engineering Office Master's Degree Intern you will be working under the direction of the GE Vernova Gas Power Chief Consulting Engineer.

Assignments may include:

  • Assisting in preparing cloud-based information structures.
  • Working with Managers and Controlled Title Holders on the creation of Learning Experiences
  • Developing and documenting new methods for the lifting team on benchmarking and validating FRANC3D crack propagation tools for GT Hot Gas Path/Steam Turbines, which is intended to become the global tool to be applied across all engineering organizations in Gas Power
  • Support in solving complex problems using sustainable and quality design solutions.
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a master's in sciences in Mechanical Engineering. At least 1 year to graduation (June '26)
  • Availability to work 40h a week.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English communication (written and spoken)
  • Solid background on engineering fundamentals related to Finite Element Method for stress analysis and mechanical (fatigue) properties of metallic materials.
  • Good Problem-Solving Skills
  • Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Familiar with commercial CAD & FEA software (UG/ANSYS)

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated proactivity/initiative
  • Good programming skills (Python, C++, Fortran, Ruby, or any web-based software).
  • Cloud technology knowledge
