Job Description Summary

Job Description

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our Combined Cycle Power Plant project for an 8-month internship. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will serve as a Junior Field Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience across all phases of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project execution. This role is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial application, providing direct exposure to civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Coordination: Actively support the site management team with daily field inspections, contractor follow-ups, and project coordination meetings.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track daily site progress against the master schedule and assist in reporting findings.
  • HSE Compliance: Champion a culture of safety by participating in toolbox talks, safety walks, and monitoring site permit-to-work systems.
  • Technical Support: Assist in various project phases, including civil/structural inspections, mechanical erection supervision, electrical cable routing, and pre-commissioning testing.
  • Documentation: Prepare daily reports, maintain commissioning logbooks, assist in the turnover dossier preparation, and track project issues/deviations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify site challenges and propose solutions, culminating in a final site improvement proposal and technical report.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
  • Strong interest in power generation, large-scale construction, or industrial project management.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-risk industrial environment (field-based role).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and contractors.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and root-cause identification.
  • Willingness to spend approximately 70% of working time in the field.
  • Fluent in english

What You Will Gain:

  • Multi-Disciplinary Exposure: Experience in the full lifecycle of a power plant, from foundations and mechanical erection to first energization and performance testing.
  • Professional Development: Transition your academic knowledge into practical engineering judgment and site management expertise.
  • Mentorship: Regular evaluation and feedback based on field presence, technical understanding, and communication skills.
  • High-Impact Deliverables: Opportunity to contribute to real-world punch lists, turnover packages, and final project close-out.

Working Conditions:

  • Duration: 6-8 Months.
  • Environment: Predominantly on-site (70% field work, 20% meetings, 10% office).
  • Mentorship: Continuous guidance from site leadership and experienced engineers.
