Job Description Summary
Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focused on execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage the tender process (based on current procurement needs in collaboration with other teams such as sourcing)
- Timely preparation and issuance of purchase orders to suppliers based on demand
- Oversee the timeliness of delivery
- Optimize the cycles of purchased materials
- Conduct periodic analyses and evaluations of suppliers
- Manage complaint processes and settle poor-quality costs with suppliers
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality and timing issues using available quality tools
- Work within supplier management systems
- Supervise the quality of key parameters for procurement indices in the SAP system
- Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers
Professional competencies / requirements:
- Higher education (preferably technical or economic)
- Knowledge of the procurement process
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in English to facilitate smooth communication with foreign suppliers and manufacturers
- Fluency in Polish
- Proficiency in SAP, specifically the Materials Management module (material flow, logistics)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel to independently and effectively analyze data
- Negotiation skills and strong communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Capability to set priorities and work under tight deadlines
Additional assets:
- Previous experience in a production or industrial environment
- Knowledge of basic quality and lean tools (A3 analysis, RCA, Kaizen)
