Job Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our Maintenance and Facilities operations team. This role is critical to maintaining the precision tools, fixtures, jigs, and gauges that support our shop manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and longevity of production tooling through preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration activities.
Job Description
Avenza Aero Alliance maintenance specialist, reporting to the Facility and Maintenance Leader, will support within the following Maintenance and Repair activities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing fixtures, jigs, templates, and specialized tooling used in turbine, generator, and energy equipment production
- Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling failures and implement corrective repairs to maintain/improve safety and minimize production downtime
- Support shop tool engineers to rebuild, refurbish, and restore worn or damaged fixtures to original specifications
- Support in troubleshooting, corrective maintenance and repair activities on CNC machinery
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in use E-maint
- Coordinate the calibration of measuring instruments according to quality standards
- Conduct regular calibration of precision measuring instruments and gauges per established schedules
- Verify dimensional accuracy of fixtures and tooling against engineering specifications and tolerances
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure tooling meets ISO and industry standards
- Maintain calibration certificates and traceability documentation

- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify tooling improvement opportunities
- Support new product introductions by preparing and validating fixtures for production readiness
- Provide technical expertise to production teams on proper fixture usage and handling
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations related to tooling-induced quality issues
- Inventory and Organization
- Manage tooling inventory, including storage, organization, and tracking systems
- Identify obsolete or redundant tooling and recommend disposition
- Coordinate with procurement and manufactoring tooling engineers for replacement parts and tooling components
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas

Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience in mechanical technology, aerospace, industrial engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fixture and tooling maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in precision fitting
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Working knowledge of CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Adaptability to changing production needs and schedules
- Intermediate level knowledge of English - b1
- Commitment to safety protocols and continuous improvement
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, curiosity and precision complete the profile
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aeroderivative turbine, power generation, aerospace, or heavy equipment manufacturing
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques
- Six Sigma or quality certification
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of E-maint CMMS and Oracle ERP will be a plus.
