Vice President - Sales and Marketing Head & Neck Cancer Lead

Job Description: The Vice President- Sales and Marketing Head & Neck cancer will be at the forefront of revolutionizing cancer therapy. This pivotal role entails overseeing the introduction and lifecycle management of Genmab's first fully integrated commercial product into the Head & Neck cancer space, establishing and executing the enterprise‑level strategy for commercial and thought leader engagement and setting a new standard for excellence and innovation in the industry.

Reporting to the Vice President, US Sales and Marketing, this role is instrumental in driving the US market launch, thought leader engagement and steering a talented team of sales, marketing and thought leader engagement, to develop and execute comprehensive strategies that ensure the success and growth of our brands.

This position is hybrid based in Princeton, NJ (US) and you must be onsite at least 60% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Craft and communicate a compelling long-term brand vision.
  • Lead a large cross functional team in strategic and tactical planning, ensuring alignment with global objectives and Genmab's ambitious goals for its first fully integrated medicine in the Head & Neck cancer space.
  • Shape and influence global strategy, leveraging insights from the US Market, the first to launch and largest market.
  • Key contributor to the overall US commercialization portfolio strategy as a key member of the Sales & Marketing Leadership team and drive Genmab's US success with an enterprise growth mindset.

Team Management and Development:

  • Inspire and guide a team of sales and marketing professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Oversee home office and a field-based thought leader engagement team responsible for establishing and strengthening connectivity with key opinion leaders and accounts.
  • Build internal capability through training, best‑practice sharing, and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of commercial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Role model One Genmab approach and actively drive employee engagement through strengthening the Genmab extra[not]ordinary culture.

Brand and Portfolio Management:

  • Own the P&L management responsibilities and oversight of the therapeutic portfolio/brand, accountable to senior management.
  • Develop and oversee marketing strategies, product positioning, and branding initiatives for the US launch, and shaping global brand as the US is the lead market.
  • Engage senior leadership on brand strategy and performance, and craft content for the Board of Directors and Investor Relations.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing account manager sales team and maximize performance & impact by building a culture of executional excellence supported by clear direction and an integrated cross-functional planning approach.
  • Ensure alignment of thought leader strategies with enterprise priorities.
  • Participate in engagements with the most influential global, regional, or national thought leaders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with departments such as Market Access, Medical Affairs, Business Operations and Regulatory to optimize launch strategies and tactics.
  • Key partner with the Therapeutic Area Sales and Marketing leaders and their respective teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration of insights and strategies across functions.
  • Partner with R&D including the Compound Development Team to shape and influence key brand and portfolio decisions within the Therapeutic Area.

Market Analysis and Adaptation:

  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Use insights to adapt strategies and identify growth opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, to develop and execute market insights and business strategies.
  • Responsible for being the company representative in key external engagements

Lifecycle Development:

  • Lead US Market commercial insights, shaping key development decisions for the therapeutic area portfolio.
  • Lifecycle management in emerging areas outside of the therapeutic area are out of scope and will be managed by the VP, US Sales & Marketing.
  • Influence brand strategy from early development through its lifecycle for Genmab's first wholly integrated medicine.
  • Ensure strategic plan and readiness which accounts for initial and planned additional indications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant experience in commercial roles at the enterprise leadership level Oncology experience is required, with launch experience in Solid Tumors required and in Head & Neck cancer highly preferred.
  • People leadership experience within pharmaceutical commercial business, leading high-performing sales and marketing teams to demonstrated success is required.
  • Strong ability to analyze market trends, develop strategic insights, and execute effective brand plans.
  • Proven experience translating brand strategy into integrated campaign plans leveraging technology and able to demonstrate driving innovation
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and strategies clearly.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive, decisive approach.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$257,600.00 - $386,400.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
