Research Associate, Clinical Compatibility & In-Use
At Genmab, we are dedicated to building extra[not]ordinary® futures, together, by developing antibody products and groundbreaking, knock-your-socks-off KYSO antibody medicines® that change lives and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. We strive to create, champion and maintain a global workplace where individuals' unique contributions are valued and drive innovative solutions to meet the needs of our patients, care partners, families and employees.
Our people are compassionate, candid, and purposeful, and our business is innovative and rooted in science. We believe that being proudly authentic and determined to be our best is essential to fulfilling our purpose. Yes, our work is incredibly serious and impactful, but we have big ambitions, bring a ton of care to pursuing them, and have a lot of fun while doing so.
Does this inspire you and feel like a fit? Then we would love to have you join us!
The Role
As a Research Associate in the Clinical Compatibility & In-Use sub-team, you will join the Drug Product Development team within Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control - Product Development (CMC-PD). In this laboratory-based role, you will play an important part in preparing Genmab's antibody therapies for clinical use by generating the data needed to support both early- and late-stage development.
A large part of your work focuses on clinical compatibility and in-use studies. You will investigate how our drug products interact with the materials used in the clinical setting (such as syringes, infusion bags and tubing) to ensure they remain safe, stable and effective for patients. The results of these studies directly contribute to Investigational New Drug (IND) submissions and support the successful progression of our clinical programs, helping ensure our medicines can be safely and effectively administered to patients participating in clinical trials.
You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the laboratory, performing experiments using a broad range of biochemical analytical techniques. The remainder of your time will be dedicated to data analysis, interpretation, documentation and discussing results with colleagues across Genmab's Utrecht and Copenhagen sites. Working alongside scientists and fellow research associates, you will coordinate laboratory activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
You will be joining a group of down-to-earth colleagues who value openness, collaboration and a good sense of humour. We work closely together and enjoy supporting one another, while embracing the fact that priorities in drug development can change quickly and no two weeks are exactly the same. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment, stays flexible when plans shift, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. If you enjoy being hands-on in the lab, have a keen eye for detail, and like being part of a supportive team that celebrates successes together, we look forward to receiving your application!
Responsibilities
- Clinical in-use activities focus on assessing the compatibility and stability of our drug products with the materials used in the clinical setting.
- These activities are crucial for Investigational New Drug (IND) documentation supporting first-in-human clinical trials.
- Develop process-specific analytical methods.
- You will support the study design and be the laboratory lead for multiple in-use studies together with the scientific lead, requiring a proactive and well-organized approach.
- You will perform experiments using a wide range of modern biochemical techniques in several simultaneous projects (e.g., HPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, MFI, and HIAC).
- You will carry out most experiments according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and study-specific protocols, which require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- You will document and report the results clearly and correctly in an electronic lab book and present the results and interpretations to colleagues.
- You will work closely together with scientists and other research associates, supporting each other constantly as a team.
- You contribute to method optimization and the implementation of new technologies within the team.
- You act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of one or more laboratory instruments.
