The Role and Department:
As a Regional Director, State Government Affairs, you will operate as a member of the US Government Affairs and Policy (USGAP) Department. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and engaging on state-level policy activity, delivering results that optimize the impact of external public policy on Genmab and the patients we aspire to serve. You will develop and coordinate cross-functional teams that include and harness the expertise of internal business partners and will represent Genmab in industry organizations and before government officials, policymakers, and key thought leaders at the state-level. You will report to the Head of US Government Affairs and Policy and will work closely with members of Genmab's Commercial Operations team, including colleagues from Market Access, Customer Experience and Insights, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Sales, Marketing and more.

Location: The incumbent must reside within the regional footprint for which they would be responsible. This position is based in the Northeastern U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of state government relations within your assigned region, including through the following: hiring and supervising additional Government Affairs Directors (GADs) within your region as we expand our engagement footprint; hiring and supervising local lobbying counsel; and managing relationships with state-level patient advocacy and industry groups.
• Work collaboratively with USGAP and Commercial Operations colleagues, including Market Access, Customer Experience & Insights, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Sales, Marketing and others to identify, understand, develop and execute strategies to advance legislative and regulatory policies that benefit Genmab and the patients we aspire to serve.
• Monitor and track all relevant state legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues that may impact the patients we aspire to serve and Genmab's U.S. operations. Develop background and communications materials to communicate such developments to internal and external audiences, where appropriate.
• Develop, implement, and execute lobbying and/or stakeholder-led campaigns that utilize the cross-functional expertise of Genmab USGAP and Commercial Operations.
• Embrace diversity of thought to understand the needs of, and develop strong relationships with, key internal business leaders, as well as external policymakers and other key stakeholders.
• Location-specific Genmab facility site-engagement, including employee programming, training interaction, and political action committee (PAC) recruitment, retention, and administration.
• Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• 12 + years in government affairs experience at the state or federal level.
• Experience in state-based biopharmaceutical policy through work in, or before, state legislatures, state agencies, and/or organizations representing the interests of manufacturers, patients, providers, medical, or commercial organizations.
• Knowledge of health care policy, biopharmaceutical policy, regulatory and administrative processes, lobbying/lobbying compliance laws, and health care economics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write, present, and contribute as both a leader and member of a team.
• An ability to effectively manage and influence stakeholders in a matrix environment. Skilled judgement with respect to tone and positioning on complex and sensitive issues.
• An understanding of electoral and political processes, as well as the ability to work with legislators and policymakers regardless of party affiliation.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills along with an ability to work well with a broad range of people and entities internally and externally.
• Experience administering and growing a political action committee (PAC).
• Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time for Business-related travel, including overnight travel.
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$224,960.00 - $337,440.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
