The Role

As Director, Facilities & Workplace Solutions, you will guide the strategic direction of our US workplace environments and share how the teams collaborate and thrive within a growing and complex organization. You will lead a team of regular and contract employees, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of workplace services.

In this role, you will oversee the performance of a diverse network of vendors and service partners, ensuring that all facilities operation meet local regulatory standards and reflect the high-quality experience Genmab aims to provide. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders at all levels, providing strategic guidance while maintaining clear alignment across functions. You will build strong, trust-based relationships, ensuring effective coordination and continuity across all workplace activities.

The position requires a leader who brings accountability and the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic organization. Your work will contribute meaningfully to the overall employee experience in the US, while supporting the advancement of Genmab's global workplace strategy and standards.

The Responsibilities

  • Implement strategic plans for real estate and facility management in Genmab's US locations (Princeton, NJ; Berkley Heights, NJ; Cambridge, MA). The role may expand to include responsibility for additional sites in North or South American in future.
  • Supervise day-to-day facility operations and collaborate effectively within a highly matrixed environment to ensure cross- enterprise alignment.
  • Recruit, lead and develop Workplace team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Cultivate an agile approach focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain local safety, security, and emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Ensure facilities comply with regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Plan and oversee facility-related projects, including capital projects and process improvement initiatives. Some global projects may be required.
  • Manage the budget and ensure expenditure remains aligned with approved financial plans.
  • Implement procurement strategies that drive cost efficiency and value creation.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor and landlord/broker relationships to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Develop and implement approaches that support Genmab's CSRD strategy and lead sustainability initiatives across Dutch locations.
  • This is an onsite role at our Princeton NJ site

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years in biotech, pharma or related industry, with significant exposure to facility management.
  • Experience overseeing laboratory and manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated management experience leading diverse teams within a complex organizational environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed hospitality and service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance strategic and operational considerations.
  • Significant experience interpreting complex information to influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong digital literacy, including advanced MS Office capabilities.
  • 10% travel is required

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$182,720.00 - $274,080.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
