The Role & Department

This position will manage entire Japan procurement and be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to support business operations. This position ensures cost efficiency, quality, compliance, and timely delivery while building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders and closely work together with Global Procurement team to ensure Japan procurement process and policies are in line with global policies. This position will director report to Japan Finance Head and will be dotted line to Vice President, Global Procurement.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven, practical and business-oriented procurement leader who thrives in a lean environment and feel comfortable being both a strategic advisor and a hands-on operator, and the leader who has the confidence to build relationships, solve problems and drive compliant procurement practices across the Japan organization.

Main responsibilities are:

• Working closely with legal, compliance, IT, Finance, and global procurement to secure the appropriate and compliant procurement process, manage governance and policy.
• Developing procurement strategies for all functions of Genmab KK included R&D, Commercial and Enabling functions
• Refining the Japan Procurement Policy and upgrading the procurement process in Japan.
• Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors and updating the preferred vendors list as necessary.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
• Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

Requirements - what you must have

• Minimum of 10+ years' experience of procurement and have well experience to manage end-to-end procurement process.
• Minimum of one- or two-years' experience of pharmaceutical procurement is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others.
• Proven experience managing procurement operations.
• Experience using SAP is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Management and leadership skills.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter, able to work stand alone with minimal supervision.
