Role
As Associate Director for the categories supporting Global Clinical Drug Supply (CMOs, IRT, etc.), you will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic sourcing and category management initiatives. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading supplier negotiations, and managing end-to-end procurement processes, including contract lifecycle management, supplier governance and relationship management. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure that sourcing activities align with business needs while delivering cost efficiencies, compliance, risk mitigation and commercial value.

You will join Global Procurement and report to the Senior Director, Global Procurement, Tech Ops. The position is a hybrid position in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Key Responsibilities
The primary accountability of this role is to lead the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process in close collaboration with the Global Clinical Drug Supply, ensuring timely and fit-for-purpose agreements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead strategic sourcing planning and execution for categories supporting clinical drug supply services
- Drive the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFP development and execution
- Oversee supplier evaluation and due diligence for new and existing suppliers
- Assess supplier markets, commercial trends, capacity constraints, pricing developments and risk factors that may affect sourcing strategies or supplier performance
- Enable and support supplier selection decisions through procurement expertise, market insights, commercial assessment and process guidance
- Lead contract lifecycle management, including commercial negotiation, execution, and amendments for master service agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and change orders
- Drive cost transparency, savings/value tracking, and commercial decision justifications
- Act as procurement lead and coordinating contract manager for categories supporting Global Clinical Drug Supply
- Manage supplier governance and performance, including:
- Preparing and chairing governance meetings
- Driving commercial issue escalation and resolution
- Mitigating commercial and supplier risks and optimizing processes
- Identifying trends, value creation, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Develop, implement, and manage category strategies within the assigned area
- Advise stakeholders in Global Clinical Drug Supply on best procurement practices across supplier performance, risk, and relationship management
- Define, implement, and maintain outsourcing strategies for assigned service categories
Additionally, this role will:
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of global procurement, sourcing and contract management, as well as supplier governance processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Clinical Drug Supply, Legal, IT&D, Finance, Compliance & Risk and QA
- Support cross-functional projects and training initiatives as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management and/or clinical outsourcing
- Experience working in pharma, biotech, life sciences, or another regulated environment is preferred
- Experience supporting sourcing of services for clinical development and/or Clinical Drug Supply is an advantage

- Proactive, results-oriented, and solution-driven mindset with strong commercial judgment
- Strong understanding of sourcing governance, contract lifecycle management and supplier relationship management

The final salary offer will depend on several factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
