About the Role

As an ERP Business Process Expert at Genmab, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end global business processes across Finance and Supply Chain. This includes Account to Report (ATR), Source to Pay (STP), Order to Cash (OTC), and Supply Chain Management (SCM).

This role is primarily focused on supporting Asia operations (Japan and China and potentially other territories in the future), with a particular emphasis on addressing local business practices, regulatory requirements, and customer needs in Japan and China. While ensuring that local requirements are met, processes remain standardized and fully integrated with Genmab standard global ERP framework. You will collaborate closely with your global counterparts to align business needs with SAP S/4HANA and related digital solutions, contributing to Genmab's international growth and operational excellence.

You will report directly to the Senior Director, Global SAP Finance COE for functional responsibilities, with a dotted-line reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Finance Japan for local operational matters to ensure alignment with Japan-specific requirements.

Core Global Responsibilities

These responsibilities cover global ERP process ownership, governance, and continuous improvement across Finance and Supply Chain in collaboration with your colleagues from the Global Business CoE.

  • Assist with the design, build, test, deployment, and support of ERP processes across ATR, STP, OTC, and SCM.
  • Ensure processes are standardized, integrated, and aligned with business and compliance requirements within Genmab global standard framework.
  • Act as a global subject matter expert bridging Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial Operations.
  • Identify process gaps and drive system enhancements or workflow optimizations.
  • Assist with ERP testing and training initiatives to support adoption across global teams.
  • Maintain process documentation, training materials, and ensure audit-ready compliance with financial controls, US GAAP/IFRS, and GxP where applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, SCM, QA, and IT&D to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Partner with global business leaders to translate strategy into tactical and operational ERP goals.
  • Build external networks to bring innovative process solutions and benchmark leading practices.
  • Drive adoption of ERP processes across regions while supporting global rollouts.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels to embrace system-driven process improvements.
  • Support projects that span multiple ERP domains and geographies.
  • Centralize the governance of financial systems activities, including tracking and coordinating incidents, service requests, and enhancements to ensure efficient resolution, alignment with global standards, and transparent communication with stakeholders.

Regional Responsibilities (Asia: Japan & China)

These responsibilities are specific to supporting Genmab's operations in Asia (Japan and China and potentially other territories in the future), while ensuring alignment with global processes.

  • Act as the primary SAP support contact for Japan and China, representing Genmab to regional stakeholders. Provide local issue analysis, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business teams, and ensure alignment with guidelines established by the global Business Center of Excellence (CoE). Balance global standards with the practical requirements of local operations and end-users.
  • Manage and maintain local SAP objects (e.g., Web21, tax configurations, fixed assets) to ensure compliance with Japanese and Chinese regulations, statutory requirements, Customer-facing operational standards, and language standards.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to Genmab teams, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable (AP), Source to Pay (STP) and Order to Cash (OTC) processes. Deliver training sessions either remotely or on-site, ensuring knowledge transfer and effective system usage.
  • Be responsible for master data governance in Japan and China, ensuring that business partner and bank master data are maintained accurately and in compliance with Genmab's policies and local requirements such as Zenginkyo standards. This activity is performed within the framework of Genmab's existing global master data governance standards, ensuring alignment with global practices while addressing local operational needs. This ensures smooth operations with local customers, suppliers, and banking partners, as well as supporting timely and accurate financial closing and reporting processes in Japan and China.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SAP-related issues in Japan and China, ensuring timely resolution and escalation.
  • Attend the Monthly Connect Call, track open items, and follow up with task owners until resolution.
  • Understand local business requirements and coordinate with global counterparts to design and deliver SAP enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years in Finance, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing with expertise in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.
    • Proven experience supporting regional operations in Asia (Japan and/or China) with global collaboration.
    • Strong knowledge across all ERP end-to-end processes (ATR, STP, OTC, SCM).
    • Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS, FP&A systems, and digital tools such as Concur, OpenText/VIM, Adaptive.
    • Familiarity with GXP, Part 11 compliance, and local commercialization processes in Japan and China (e.g., JD-Net, local statutory requirements).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication (oral & written), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Business level English a must, Japanese and Chinese strongly preferred
    • Ability to balance local needs with global standards, advocating for the voice of Japanese and Chinese customers and business users in global decision-making forums.
    • Strong change leadership skills, proactive, result-oriented, and resilient in navigating ambiguity.
  • Other:
    • Willingness to work flexible hours to collaborate with global colleagues across time zones.
    • Close collaborations with finance teams and other business partners in Japan and China is required.
    • Ability to accommodate and collaborate effectively across multiple time zones to support global team members.
