The Role
The Associate Director, DK Public Affairs & Communications, is responsible for leading Public Affairs in Denmark, championing internal communications for Genmab's registered headquarters in Copenhagen, and contributing to global content creation as an active member of Genmab's Communications & Corporate Affairs team. This role is based in Copenhagen, DK, and reports into the Senior Director, Communications, based in Princeton, NJ.
The Associate Director (AD) will develop and execute a Public Affairs strategy to raise the profile of Genmab as a leading biotech and innovation powerhouse, engaging with key external stakeholders in Denmark including prominent industry organizations, community leaders, and local media. In addition, the AD will develop and execute an internal communications strategy in Copenhagen to support employee engagement and communications. The AD will partner closely with the DK Site Leader for both Public Affairs and Internal Communications efforts and take an active role in thought leadership opportunities.
As part of this role, the AD will also support the Senior Director, Communications, to curate and develop content for various digital channels and contribute to global campaigns that showcase Genmab's journey of innovation and growth to build confidence in Genmab's transformation into an integrated biotech bringing our medicines to patients.
The AD is a strong and seasoned communication professional that acts as a trusted advisor to the DK Site Leader and the broader Site Leadership team based in Copenhagen. The AD will also serve as a mentor to two part-time student workers in Communications & Corporate Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Brings the Genmab narrative to life through dynamic communications and engaging experiences including meetings, in-person and virtual events; and through rich storytelling to drive enterprise-wide understanding of the company's strategy and culture.
- Lead Public Affairs efforts in DK, ensuring messaging alignment and approach with Global Corporate Communications; engage with agency for support as needed.
- Provides strategy and delivers large-format employee meetings (e.g., quarterly town halls, All Hands meetings, etc.) hosted by business and site leaders, with the goal of shaping and influencing employee sentiment, building trust and confidence in Genmab's leadership, supporting leadership visibility. Manages agenda, content, rehearsals and logistics.
- Counsels DK Site Leadership Team on all aspects of communications, including corporate reputation, issues management, employee engagement strategy, and public affairs expertise.
- Partner with Site HR Leader to support organizational evolution and change management and to stay connected on global communications campaigns that require local approach.
- Provide guidance as needed to two Student Workers, Communications & Corporate Affairs
- Provides well-written business communications for senior leaders, including but not limited to organizational announcements, meeting presentations, key messages, talking points, and briefing documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in communications preferably within pharma/biotech or other highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience in executive communications, internal communications, media relations, public affairs, omnichannel strategy, change management, and project management.
- Prior experience as part of a global team and mentoring emerging talent.
- Fluency with SharePoint and other digital communications tools.
