Virtual Propulsion Engineer- Power Electronics & HV System
Description
DUTIES: Optimize and define design and validation requirements, predict inverter losses and heat rejection, predict high voltage bus ripple and resonances, assess the impact of control strategy on component design and validation, assess impact of design changes on component and system performance, and HTD, PTC, Ripple Rejection Analysis. Support power electronics teams in all phases of program execution from concept to production. Provide technical leadership in program product development teams and supplier assessment activities pertaining to power inverters and high voltage bus. Actively pursue cost reduction, size reduction and efficiency improvement. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office. Multiple positions available.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study and Five (5) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Design Release Engineer, or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Design Release Engineer, or related occupation. Three (3) years of experience with: Electric Drive and Propulsion System High Voltage Bus; Vehicle-to-Vehicle & Vehicle-to-Home System Architecture and Vehicle Charging; Power Electronics analysis, design, development, validation, and release experience; Power electronics theory and principles with wide band gap semiconductors including Si, SiC, and GaN; Design, development, and testing of power inverters and converters; Designing for EMC in power electronics modules; Design and analysis of vehicle level conducted and radiated emissions; and Commercial tools for modeling and simulation of power electronics and electric drives including Ansys (Sherlock, HFSS, Siwave), Matlab, Simulink, and Saber.
