Stamping Operations Manager

The Role:
Responsible for all 3 shift operations of Safety, People, Quality, Throughput and Cost in a large press stamping department consisting of over 200 salary and UAW represented employees
What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
- Manage department production and skilled trades hourly and salary team in a 6-day a high-volume stamping department.
- Majority of time is spent on the plant floor daily engaging team members
- Manage intricate processes from the die room to the end of the production line
- Work with other departments in ensuring we earn customers for life
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years experience of managing both production and maintenance manufacturing.
- Leading maintenance and production processes effectively.
- Must have great interpersonal and communication skills to engage the floor
- Must be able to answer calls of escalation outside of the 1st shift operations
- Must have experience managing salary teams
- Must be able to lead 3 shifts and work the hours required to be effective
- Ability to work through all 3 shifts (when needed)
- Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed
- Must possess the ability to deal with complex problems
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Master Degree
- 5+ years experience managing both production and maintenance in a large press stamping environment
- Specific die experience or formal training
- Press mechanical experience
- Additional production experience outside of a stamping environment
- Technical former training
- Thorough knowledge of GM-GMS Manufacturing System and Processes
