Senior Program Manager - Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV

Today Warren, MI

Description

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard -from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This isn't a role for those looking for an easy path-it's for those who embrace change, push through obstacles, and take ownership of complex problems. While there will be long days and moments that test your resilience, you'll find purpose in your work, flexibility to prioritize your family, and the support of a people-first culture. If you're ready to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

WHY: The purpose of this role is to strengthen Program Management Office (PMO) execution by applying consistent processes, improving visibility, and supporting disciplined delivery of manufacturing electrical commitments.

WHAT: As a Program Manager, you will coordinate and integrate cross-functional deliverables, track timing and risks, and ensure clarity of ownership to keep assigned programs and initiatives on schedule and aligned. Your work helps teams stay organized, informed, and execution-focused.

HOW: Supporting the organization to make it happen for our customers.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Lead program integration across high-complexity initiatives, ensuring alignment across Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Software, Vehicle PMO, Product Engineering, and additional enterprise partners.
  • Drive structured PMO governance by implementing scalable processes, frameworks, and mechanisms that increase visibility, predictability, and disciplined execution of multi-team deliverables.
  • Innovate and modernize PM practices through automation, AI, analytics, and digital tools to elevate transparency, streamline workflows, and reduce manual effort across programs.
  • Anticipate, synthesize, and escalate high-impact risks and cross-domain dependencies, ensuring clear ownership, data-driven decision-making, and streamlined path-to-green.
  • Serve as a key connector across functions, aligning stakeholders, resolving conflicting priorities, and enabling teams to progress toward critical program milestones.
  • Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated success leading or coordinating high-complexity workstreams, major program deliverables, or multi-team initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, software, operations, or similar environments.
  • Strong capability to lead cross-functional problem solving and drive clarity and alignment across organizations with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex technical and organizational landscapes, influence without authority, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills-able to articulate risks, decisions, and program health clearly to technical teams and leadership audiences.
  • Alignment with GM Behaviors and a commitment to a collaborative, people-first culture.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience designing or maturing PMO governance frameworks, processes, or cross-team operating mechanisms.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Jira Align, or advanced digital program/portfolio management tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying automation, AI, data pipelines, or digital dashboards to enhance program management efficiency and visibility.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing electrical systems, SDV architectures, control module reflash processes, or adjacent technical domains.
  • Experience leading initiatives with enterprise-level impact or cross-functional stakeholders spanning multiple functions.
