IT Systems Administrator
Description
IT Systems Administrator - Tooling & Equipment International (TEI)
Oversee all aspects of IT for Tooling & Equipment International (TEI), encompassing infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, user support, automation, and manufacturing systems - while also serving as the primary liaison to GM Cybersecurity and IT teams. This includes sole responsibility for implementing and maintaining compliance with frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and ITAR.
Independently fulfill the duties of multiple roles - systems administrator, cybersecurity analyst, compliance lead, automation engineer, and manufacturing IT specialist - supporting a 110+ user environment across front office, engineering, foundry, and shop floor operations.
Given the complexity, scale, and critical nature of TEI's IT environment - and direct involvement with enterprise-level initiatives driven by GM - this role justifies formal recognition as IT Systems Administrator. This title better reflects the scope of responsibilities, the level of cross-functional collaboration involved, and the strategic leadership required to protect and grow TEI's technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities at TEI:

- Maintain and actively use endpoint protection and vulnerability management tools (CrowdStrike Falcon, Cylance, Qualys, Claroty) to identify, investigate, and remediate security threats across TEI's environment.
- Respond to security alerts and coordinate remediation efforts with GM Cybersecurity and TAZ Networks (MSP).
- Harden TEI systems to securely handle ITAR and CUI data, implementing encrypted storage, strict access controls, and compliance-aligned safeguards.
Automation & Technical Efficiency
- Write and deploy PowerShell scripts to automate software deployment/removal, log configuration, GPO enforcement, and system cleanup.
- Create and manage scheduled tasks, startup scripts, and policies to reduce manual effort and enforce IT standards.
Manufacturing & CNC Integration
- Support networking and data exchange for CNC machines (Fanuc, Siemens 840D, Grob 4Pilot, etc.).
- Manage SQL Server instances for tool presetters (Zoller Venturion, Redomatic) and other production systems.

Networking & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with TAZ Networks on firewall management, outbound restrictions, logging, and backup strategy.
- Oversee NAS storage systems, backup routines (Macrium), and disk usage across servers and workstations.
Software Licensing & Cost Optimization
- Regularly audit software licensing across the organization to identify unused, underutilized, or redundant subscriptions.
- Evaluate and recommend alternative tools and solutions to reduce IT overhead while maintaining or improving performance, security, and compliance.
