The Role

As an Innovation Manager for AI agents, you will identify challenges to help GM's global Design Studios work more efficiently and effectively using AI. Partnering closely with AI Agent Engineers, design studio users, and supporting technology teams to ensure that we're prioritizing the most impactful use cases. We are looking for someone with experience running discovery with users (empathy interviews, shadowing, workflow mapping) and turning insights into clear problem statements and requirements. You will translate the needs of creative design, sculpting, and fabrication teams into a clear roadmap for AI agents, organizing and prioritizing a backlog of requests based on impact, effort, and strategic alignment. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, communicating trade-offs and decisions to both studio leaders and technical partners, Translating ambiguous issues into execution strategies. While you won't write code or build models yourself, you will partner closely with AI agent engineers and IT teams to shapes solutions, ensure they are production-ready, and drive adoption across the studios.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

o Strategic product leader, user advocate, individual contributor role

o Identify challenges, articulate objectives, document problem statement, scope and quantify tangible business benefit

o Rank and prioritize submissions based on value, strategic alignment, constraints and effort

o Define user requirements and stakeholder success criteria

o Develop and align strategic capability roadmaps for each function

o Describe enablers, risks and dependencies

o Plans, frames, and executes innovation with project management team

o Collaborate with AI agent engineers, project managers, design leaders, user groups, Design IT and Enterprise IT platform teams

o Ensures production readiness plan will meet stakeholder's needs

o Engages with external software vendors

o Cleary articulates success areas and lessons learned

Yours Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

o Bachelor's degree in design, business, or related field; equivalent experience in a design studio, creative production, product, or operations role will be considered.

o 2+ years in product, program, operations, or service design roles supporting creative, design, or digital product teams

o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
o High level of analytical problem-solving skills and working through ambiguity
o Ability to handle many complex assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability
o Demonstrated ability to 'lead up' and influence cross-functionally
o Ability to present ideas and concepts for buy-in to large groups and leadership teams

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
o Familiarity with AI productivity tools and/or enterprise AI agent platforms

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
