Indirect Material Senior Buyer

Location: Bogotá, Colombia
Work Model: Hybrid - On-site 3x per week


What You Will Do (Responsibilities)

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect materials and services, including MRO, IT, facilities, and professional services.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct market research to identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers, assessing cost, quality, reliability, and risk.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, contractual terms, and service-level agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Monitor supplier performance, proactively address issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget and productivity targets.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on spend analysis, market trends, sourcing strategies, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of indirect materials and services that support business operations.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a strong focus on indirect materials and services procurement.
  • Solid negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook .
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and supply chain management principles.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle .
  • Experience managing regional or LATAM supplier portfolios.
  • Advanced data analysis skills (e.g., spend analytics, dashboards, or reporting tools).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English , intermediate Portuguese.
  • Experience driving cost optimization, productivity initiatives, or process improvements in procurement.
