GAIC Electrical Wiring Coordinator

The Role
The Global Artisan Innovation Center (GAIC) Wiring Coordinator supports electrical technicians in diagnosing and repairing wiring issues for Production Tool Builds (PTB) within the electrical crib and on the General Assembly build floor. This role also provides support during Assembly Plant build events and other launch activities per the Global Vehicle Development Plan (GVDP).
You will serve as the Electronic Easel Board and PRC Champion for all electrical issues captured in PRTS/JIRA, requiring strong independent judgment, technical skill, and initiative.
What You'll Do
- Lead root-cause analysis, containment, and correction of electrical build issues during GAIC build events.
- Support pre-production and launch builds at the Global Artisan Innovation Center and GM Assembly Plants.
- Collaborate with UAW-represented hourly employees, Engineering Program Teams, and suppliers to resolve electrical, product, and process issues.
- Prioritize and independently manage daily workload across Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost.
- Recommend design revisions and manage issue documentation within GM systems (PRTS/JIRA).
- Support BSD electrical reworks and execution of MEV/EVC activities both onsite and offsite.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, calibration, release, and material-related issues during EVC phases.
- Participate in and coordinate cross-functional problem-solving teams for current and future pre-production and non-traditional builds.
- Read, interpret, and work with vehicle wiring drawings, electrical schematics, and bill-of-materials systems.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with automotive electrical sub-systems.
- Experience using common electrical test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Experience with serial data communication protocols (such as GMLAN, MOST, and/or LIN) and related test tools (NeoVI, DPS Tool).
- Strong analytical ability to solve unusual and complex problems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Ability to quickly make confident decisions while prioritizing safety.
- Experience with automotive electrical systems, functional sub-systems, and Electric/Hybrid/Autonomous vehicle systems.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
- Certifications or specialized training in vehicle programming, diagnostics, or automotive electrical systems.
- Experience coordinating large cross-functional teams within a build or launch environment.
- Prior involvement in MEV/EVC processes or pre-production build events.
- Knowledge of GM Electrical Architecture.
- Experience with GM systems: PRTS, JIRA, SPPS, eSAP.
