About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated candidate for the new role of Calibration Function Specialist- Propulsion Thermal Calibration at the Canadian Technical Centre. This position is classified as Hybrid and you will be expected to work at our Oshawa office three (3) days per week.

In this role, you will have calibration responsibilities in Electrification Thermal Device Controls/Diagnostics and System Diagnostics but will have reduced scope to allow use of experience and technical skill to support, train, and mentor others in your feature area. You'll deliver calibrations that ensure feature/diagnostic functionality and robustness while also coaching peers to do the same. You will utilize system hardware/software troubleshooting skills to resolve issues and complete calibration standard work as well as train others.

The position involves in-vehicle, lab / virtual work, along with direct support for peers working on other programs. The Calibration Function Specialist will work with cross-functional teams, and is expected to handle multiple projects/priorities, and will need to balance planned and unplanned work. Travel requirements of ~30 days per year are to be expected. Travel locations in the US include Michigan, Colorado, California, Arizona. Travel locations within Canada include Markham (ON) amongst other locations as needed.

  • Develop and optimize calibrations to meet performance and timing requirements utilizing Calibration Standard work
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Thermal Calibrators. You will be responsible for Mentoring/Leading feature area calibrators in philosophy, tradeoffs and methodology of calibration of functional area across programs
  • Conduct/Support calibration reviews to ensure high quality calibrations
  • Participate in development trips and related test activities
  • Support Product Health Management and Issue Root Cause investigations. Where needed, you will be responsible for assembling and leading task forces to root cause feature area system problems that are highly ambiguous and cross functional in nature
  • Lead CTC Thermal Calibration DSU which will include assignment delegation, note taking, follow-up on action items
  • Assist in the prioritization of software improvements, calibration process improvements and analysis capability growth with the TRB and assist in TRB directives that cross programs to improve the business
  • Support Calibration Technical Specialist level work, examples include:

    • Updating CEGs or creating new ones to be approved by peer review with Technical Specialist
    • Supporting more complex development issues
    • Participate/Champion read across PTRSs for calibration related issues
    • Stand in for TS if unavailable at TRB meetings, or PI planning events
    • Support less experienced Feature area calibrators in DOE and other vehicle/HIL/SIL testing
    • Assist in tracking lessons learned on Cal process and SW usage/content and implementing feedback into respective Calibration/SW area CEGs

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience developing SW calibrations
  • Strong knowledge of the bevHEAT Thermal System
  • Experience with in-vehicle testing, including troubleshooting experience with electrical systems
  • Experience and ability to mentor in INCA/ETAS data acquisition
  • Experience using NeoVI/Vehicle Spy and other serial data tools
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis
  • Independent worker requiring little direction and works well in a team environment
  • Excellent planner and complex problem solver

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering
  • Previous experience mentoring, training, leading in your feature area.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $164,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
