Advanced Electrical Integration Safety Engineer

The Role:
The PCEI (Post-Crash Electrical Integrity) Integration Engineer is responsible for ensuring electrical system safety and integrity during and after vehicle crash events. This role provides cross-functional leadership, aligning Safety, Wiring, Module Owners, and Technical Specialists to ensure that electrical components and harnesses are designed, routed, and integrated to protect occupants and support crash-specific safety objectives. The engineer drives requirement interpretation, technical negotiation, and best-practice documentation across multiple vehicle programs.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and develop a team of engineers.
- Develop engineering, manufacturing and other imperatives with Design theme intent (interior, exterior, aero, wheels and components).
- Communicate program engineering status and drive decisions.
- Integrate the Studio surface with the Engineering criteria by executing the Decision Fixed Point Process.
- Integrate engineering, performance and manufacturing criteria to ensure it produces a viable design space that provides the Studio with reasonable bandwidth for styling purposes.
- Support technical activities for Design surface development (e.g. Aero, data acquisition, Surfacing Groups, Vehicle Configuration, PPO shop, etc.) and engineering requirements.
- Responsible for provision of engineering / criteria information towards the completion of clinic properties, armatures, seating bucks and Mock up activities to understand and comprehend the Program Team's decisions.
- Identify technical problems and form engineering solutions related to surface execution and Design intent (e.g. molding definition, window blackout, hardware fit, lamp interfaces, grilles, door cut lines, etc.).
- Support the UG surface release process to SF and support surfacing groups in the development of final UG surfaces (SF-VDR), including surface verification process and activities.
- Execute the Architecture excellence process to integrate the customer with the vehicle.
- Attend various meetings (Program Review, VCIT, SDIT, CIT, etc.).
- Identify technical issues, develop engineering solutions and utilize a trade-study approach to recommend the solution that best meets the Customer's needs.
What You'll Need:
- 5-7 years exp in electrical architecture, vehicle safety integration or related automotive engineering disciplines.
- experience supporting crash testing, post-crash evaluations, or safety-critical component development
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions and negotiate engineering requirements
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture, wiring systems and component integrations
- Ability to review and analyze crash test data related to electrical performance and safety
Hybrid:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week, at minimum.
