Business Operations Manager, Office of the CEO
The Opportunity:
As a Business Operations Manager, you will be a critical member of the Office of the CEO, working directly with the leadership team to drive Flexport's most important strategic initiatives. This is a high-impact, project-based role for an exceptional individual who thrives on solving complex problems and executing with precision. You will be deployed to go deep on a variety of key focus areas, from optimizing our core products to designing our talent development strategy, acting as an internal consultant and a force multiplier for the executive team.
We are looking for a driven and relentless professional with a track record of success in demanding environments like management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth startup. This is a unique opportunity to apply your strategic and analytical skills in a hands-on, operational leadership position, with a direct path to becoming a future leader at Flexport.
You will:
- Strategic Project Leadership: Own and drive a portfolio of high-priority, cross-functional projects. This could involve everything from conducting a strategic review of a product line to leading a process re-engineering initiative to designing and implementing a new talent development program.
- End-to-End Problem Solving: Take on ambiguous business challenges, frame the problem, conduct rigorous analysis, and develop and implement data-driven solutions with stakeholders across the company.
- Executive-Level Communication: Synthesize complex data and insights into clear, concise presentations for the CEO and senior leadership team.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a force multiplier, building consensus and driving alignment with leaders across the company's product, engineering, sales, and operations teams without direct authority.
- Leadership Bench Building: Spend time embedded within a specific business unit or product team to understand their operations, identify gaps, and help cultivate the next generation of leaders.
- Special Projects: Take on ad-hoc projects from the CEO and Chief of Staff that are critical to the company's success.
