Job Summary
The Technical Author will be responsible for creating test documentation for use with the inhouse developed iOS Engineer App in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF form formats, in accordance with Anord Mardix drawings and testing schedules. This element involves the extensive use of Anord Mardix's Vision database and coordination of data therein, particularly during service tag requests.
Clear lines of communication will be established with the production teams and project management during this process and workload managed accordingly to meet the company's demanding production schedule.
The role also involves writing and compiling Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Client Training Manuals to the meticulously high standard that has currently been achieved. This presents the opportunity to further understand the operation of Anord Mardix assemblies as part of the authoring process.
What a typical day looks like:
- Validate and request equipment service tags via Vision.
- Produce electronic test documentation templates for iOS Engineer App use.
- Generate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) documentation.
- Write and compile Operation & Maintenance Manuals and Training Manuals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal personnel.
- Daily liaison with production teams to monitor, improve processes and resolve deficiencies.
- Assist in employee training, development and engagement.
- A minimum of GCSE English Grade 4 (formerly grade C) or equivalent.
- Excellent personnel management and communication skills.
- A team player with a positive attitude towards work and staff engagement.
- Proactive with an eye for problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Excellent PC skills, particularly Microsoft office.
- Proficient in the understanding of electrical engineering drawings.
- Operate with a high level of attention to detail.
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Working knowledge of Power Switchgear and Control gear assemblies would be advantageous.
