Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Supplier Quality Engineer located in Milpitas, CA.
In this role, the potential candidate will lead and support quality assurance initiatives across product development and manufacturing processes
What a typical day looks like:
The Supplier Quality Engineer would responsible for managing supplier selection and performance to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. This role supports product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives through technical expertise, audits, and data-driven analysis.
Supplier Management
- Select and qualify suppliers based on quality, capability, compliance, and cost.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and maintain qualification databases.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Perform supplier quality system audits and dock-to-stock inspections.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory standards.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.

- Drive supplier continuous improvement using quality tools and statistical methods.
- Guide process capability studies and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Develop and validate new or improved supplier processes.
- Implement PPAP/FAI including control plans, FMEA, MSA, RoHS, and reliability testing.
- Track pilot runs and ensure smooth transition to mass production.
- Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and APQP during product development.
- Provide technical assistance to receiving inspection and project teams.
- Handle ECO/ECN/SCR changes and guide Supplier Requests for Change.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience (4+ years) in high-tech electrical or related industries.
- Proven experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), automotive quality standards, and supplier quality engineering.
- Proficient in Core Quality Tools: APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and Lean Manufacturing principles (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with 8D Methodology and Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiar with computerized electronic test equipment and basic programming.
- Six Sigma certification.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Skilled in statistical analysis, measurement systems, and quality documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic abilities.
- Capable of interpreting complex technical instructions and managing abstract variables.
- Effective communicator with the ability to train others and support cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrates advanced technical and functional knowledge, with a solid grasp of business processes and quality systems.
