Job Summary
The Supplier Development Engineer, will be based in Worden and will analyses, monitors, evaluates, and improves Quality performance of suppliers. Will initiate improvement programs for suppliers and evaluates quality performance of potential new suppliers as part of the supplier selection process.
What a typical day looks like:
- Leads APQP/PPAP process with suppliers for products and materials from product development to SOP stage (start of production).
- Designs and maintains procedures and documentation according IATF 16949 requirements and reports about quality performance of suppliers.
- Leads quality management system- and process audits at suppliers, using VDA 6.3 procedure, at supplier site to assess capabilities for delivering according IATF 16949 QMS- and MCi requirements. Advises if supplier development actions are required. Performs also other compliance audits regarding automotive standards where required.
- Participates in product development teams and safeguards APQP process related to external suppliers and purchased material.
- Provides support to suppliers to improve their quality performance and provides training in MCi's quality objectives.
- Leads 8D-problemsolving process for major, complex nonconformities and informs MCi plants. Makes sure non conformality costs caused by supplier are addressed.
- Provides support to Supplier Quality Engineers in MCi factories. Leads improvement programs for underperforming suppliers.
- Provides input to Engineering team in design reviews, and DFM input. Delivers supplier performance input to Sourcing committee. Provides input to management about risk assessments in case of potential unpredicted situations.
- Maintain and update automotive compliance requirements with suppliers
- Higher (HBO) education with Quality Engineer (EOQ) or Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ).
- Knowledges and experience with IATF16949.
- Fluent in Dutch or English.
- Knowledge and experience with auditing; VDA 6.3 auditor certification, minimum 3 years auditing experience in Automotive.
- Thorough knowledge of problem-solving techniques (8D, DOE).
- Good knowledge of statistical and quality control techniques.
- Focused on problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Team player with excellent communication skills, customer-focussed, analytical, and solution-oriented.
- Available for (international) travel (max 20%).
