Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Process engineer located on Flex Guadalajara.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager the Process engineer this role is responsible for supervising critical SMT processes, ensuring the correct execution of production plans, and leading the technical team to meet quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Conduct time, motion, and process capacity studies.
  • Support calculations of Takt Time, Cycle Time, UPH, production capacity, and labor requirements.
  • Assist with line balancing and operational workflow analysis.
  • Create and maintain Standard Work, work instructions, process sheets, and visual documentation.
  • Monitor production KPIs including Plan Attainment, UPH, OEE/OLE, efficiency, scrap, and downtime.
  • Identify Lean wastes, including waiting, motion, transportation, inventory, overprocessing, defects, and overproduction.
  • Participate in Kaizen events, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5 Why analysis, Ishikawa, and problem-solving activities.
  • Perform basic data analysis using Excel and prepare reports and dashboards.
  • Support headcount reduction, productivity improvement, and process flow optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and NPI teams to implement process improvements.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Understanding of Takt Time, Cycle Time, UPH, capacity analysis, labor planning, and line balancing.
  • Knowledge of OEE/OLE metrics and production loss analysis.
  • Familiarity with Standard Work, Work Combination Sheets, process documentation, and continuous improvement tools including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5 Why Analysis, and Ishikawa.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, charting, and data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP/MES systems and manufacturing execution processes.
  • Experience with Power BI and reporting/automation tools is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, Smart Torque systems, PLCs, collaborative robots (Cobots), and preventive and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze production KPIs such as UPH, Plan Attainment, OEE/OLE, Cycle Time vs. Takt Time, labor productivity, downtime, and Standard Work adherence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with operators, production teams, and cross-functional support groups.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, well-organized, and able to operate with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and a results-driven approach.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing production environment and supporting shop floor operations.
