Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director, Logistics located in Flex PTP.
Reporting to the General Manager the Director, Logistics role is responsible for development, execution, and ongoing management of the Global Logistics strategy. Working with the transportation providers and operations, develop global and regional strategies and initiatives to meet current and future business needs. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects designed to lower total transportation cost, at reduced transit times, with increased reliability.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop overall strategy that focuses on cost, speed, and reliability of the services provided to business. Work with the business to develop appropriate metrics and KPI's and manage accordingly. Provide strategic alignment with Corporate strategies and initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency of transportation expenditures across the company. Develop effective and joint solutions with suppliers and providers to lower total transportation cost.
- Drive continuous improvement to standard logistics process.
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives and resolve customer / operational issues.
- Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated and implemented driving best practices.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
- Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.
- Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Typically requires 12 years of distribution, warehousing or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete recognizing of the function and those of related businesses.
