Research Analyst
Overview
The Opportunity:
The FIS Research Analyst - Securities and Portfolio Evaluation is responsible for overseeing the FIS portfolio management group, including overseeing the macro, actionable thematic research and communicating insights to key internal and external clients. This person works closely with the IPC on research and portfolio management decisions and communications for FIS and its global affiliates. This person also works closely with Securities and other Research analysts. In addition, this person is responsible for overseeing the analysis of portfolios for FIS clients and prospective clients, including the formulation of benchmark recommendations and the generation of written portfolio analyses and recommendations.
The Day-to-Day:
- Identifies areas to improve portfolio positioning and/or relative performance
- Mentors Securities and other Research analysts
- Communicates firm views and positioning to internal and external clients
- Promotes High Value Research production by providing support to other analysts and connecting them to resources
- Leads IPC priority projects and synthetization efforts, tying different read-throughs from sectors together leading to higher level strategic recommendations
- Responsible for mentorship sessions focused on analysis/career development; liaisons between team, Research Management, IPC and PE to represent and provide additional details for Securities' views across all sectors and industries; facilitates trainings for client programs/FIIG meetings, bullet point presentation for IPC, fundamental analysis, management meetings; develops research to support high-level themes; supports retention and sales through client and prospect presentations; educates clients and prospects through participation in client events and meetings; drives process change aligned with group level goals and priorities
- For FIS clients and prospective clients, oversees the evaluation of investment objective, portfolio holdings, time horizon, cash flow needs and financial situation to determine a suitable benchmark and asset allocation recommendation
- Managerial responsibilities including participating in disciplinary actions and/or terminations for direct reports, as appropriate
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 5 years of Fisher Investments experience preferred
- 5 years of Portfolio Engineering or Research experience preferred
- FIIG Road-ready; IRT & FCF approved
- Successful history of training/mentorship
- Highly developed qualitative and/or quantitative skills required
- Ability to analyze various situations and develop creative solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage time across various tasks
- Proficient in FactSet, Bloomberg and Microsoft Office software
