Overview

It's an exciting time to join Fisher Investments; we're investing in the future of our firm's technology and information security. Our business is growing internationally, which emphasizes the need to build an unparalleled team that promotes future global growth through strategic solutions and progress.

We are looking for an Application Development Technical Lead for the ServiceNow platform. The Application Development Technical Lead designs, builds, and oversees the ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, etc.), leading development teams, ensuring best practices, managing integrations (APIs), mentoring junior staff, and translating business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions, focusing on architecture, governance, and platform health.

The Opportunity:

The ServiceNow Technical Lead in collaboration with the ServiceNow Architect is responsible for the technical solution architecture, delivery quality, and long-term health of the ServiceNow platform. You will be the senior technical authority, translating business strategy into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions. You will guide developers, ensuring adherence to platform best practices, and partnering closely with product owners, architects, and partners.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep ServiceNow expertise, and strong engineering judgment. You will report to the Application Development Group Manager.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Collaborate with the ServiceNow Architect in the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB and custom applications
  • Define and enforce platform standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with ServiceNow's Now Platform roadmap
  • Be a technical escalation point for complex platform issues, integrations, and performance challenges
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, upgrade-safe, and compliant with enterprise governance standards
  • Lead hands-on development and configuration, including scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs), Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder, and data models
  • Review designs, code, and configurations to ensure quality, maintainability, and understanding of platform strategy
  • Work with product owners and partners to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Guide technical planning for releases, upgrades, and major enhancements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and administrators
  • Establish development standards, code review practices, and documentation expectations
  • Support onboarding and skill development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Design and oversee integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Azure AD, Okta, Salesforce, monitoring tools) using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub
  • Ensure data integrity, performance, and observability across integrated systems
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to align solutions
  • Support platform governance, including technical debt management, instance hygiene, and CMDB/CSDM understanding
  • Lead technical aspects of ServiceNow upgrades and feature adoption
  • Monitor platform performance, stability, and usage, driving proactive optimization

Your Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, administration, or platform engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or lead technical role on the ServiceNow platform
  • Deep hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting, APIs, data models, and workflows
  • Experience with ServiceNow architecture, best practices, and upgrade strategies
  • Experience leading technical design and guiding other engineers
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS (ITSM/ITOM/HRSD/CSM), or CAD
  • Experience operating ServiceNow as a product or platform (CoE or platform ownership model)
  • Experience in large global enterprise environments
  • Background in Agile / Scrum delivery models
  • Stable, scalable platform performance with minimal technical debt
  • Consistent adherence to platform standards
  • Increased developer productivity and solution quality
  • Strong stakeholder trust in the ServiceNow platform
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience
