Fixed Income Quantitative Research Internship
The Team
Fidelity's fixed income division is one of the country's leading fixed income managers, with over $1.2 trillion in fixed income assets managed by a staff of roughly 200 investment professionals. Our fixed income division makes its headquarters in Merrimack, New Hampshire, though more than 20 of our division members are in Fidelity's London office. We combine fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to support investment decisions aimed at maximizing risk-adjusted total return for our clients.
The Role
Fidelity is seeking to hire a Quantitative Analyst Intern to join its Quantitative Research and Investments division. This position will flex between Fidelity's office in Merrimack, New Hampshire and Boston, Massachusetts. The analyst intern will work with quants, portfolio managers, and traders on the fixed income team to develop quantitative techniques, models, and tools to support and strengthen the investment process. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside high caliber investment professionals within one of the world's leading fixed income investment teams.

Success in this role requires creative thinking, independent decision-making, and the ability to develop and clearly communicate well-researched investment recommendations.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a graduate or PhD degree in a technical field (e.g., Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics) through Summer 2026
- Proficiency in Python (or similar modeling language) and SQL
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with fixed income analytics (preferred)
- Structured thinking and intellectual curiosity
- Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
- Collaborative team player with a passion for investing and the financial markets

The Value You Deliver
- Understand, maintain, and improve analytic infrastructure related to the investment process
- Collaborate closely with other investment and technology professionals within the division
- Explain complex quantitative concepts to non-technical people
- Take initiative and demonstrate leadership skills to advance the investment process
Location Requirements:
The candidate may be based in Boston, MA, but must be able to travel to Merrimack, NH at least two days per week. Alternatively, the role can be fully based in Merrimack, NH.
Intern Program Dates
June 1st, 2026 - August 7th, 2026

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
