Job Description:

Fidelity Investments is seeking an exceptional technology leader to join our Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations (EI&O) business unit as the Director of Systems Services and Support within the Electronic Data Transmissions (EDT) team. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on transforming how client and participant data flows into and out of Fidelity's systems.

The EDT team serves as the primary gateway for a wide range of client and participant data exchanges. EDT works closely with client-facing business teams, technology support teams, and third parties to configure, support, and maintain ~20k file transmissions on behalf of Fidelity's Workplace Investing business unit. The team has presences in multiple US locations and in India. Our mission is to deliver scalable, secure, and frictionless data transmission capabilities through self-service tools and automation. We are also responsible for the modernization and maintenance of Fidelity's file transfer infrastructure.

As Director of Systems Services and Support, you will lead a team of talented engineers and technologists in evolving Fidelity's legacy file transfer platform into a modern, resilient, and scalable solution. You will be instrumental in shaping the architectural direction, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

This role requires a people-first leader with a strong technical foundation, capable of navigating complex systems while building trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholders. You will have daily opportunities to influence business outcomes and make a meaningful impact on Fidelity's data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of Fidelity's legacy file transfer environment into a modern, cloud-ready platform.
  • Drive the development of self-service capabilities and automation to improve scalability and reduce operational friction.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business partners to define and execute strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure operational excellence through proactive monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, resolve issues, and deliver value.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale systems engineering or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Strong technical background with hands on experience in data transmission technologies, file transfer protocols, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Release management and on-call production support experience.
  • Automation, batch, and data support experience using JCL, TSO, SQL, ISPF, Control-M, and Python
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational transformation and process automation.
  • Familiarity with IBM mainframe, distributed application architecture, and CSP services
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action and a passion for delivering business impact through technology.
