Director, Critical Events Management

Job Description:

As Director coordinating Critical Incident Response, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the firm's enterprise-wide crisis management program within the Corporate Risk organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Critical Events and Crisis Management, your role involves crafting and improving program capabilities. You will develop and maintain critical documentation. You will lead exercises and work with senior leadership and key partner teams across the organization, including Communications, Human Resources, Legal, Technology, and Global Security.

The Role

  • Drive the development and execution of the organization's critical event management strategy in alignment with enterprise resiliency objectives.
  • Create, update, and maintain crisis management playbooks for scenarios impacting infrastructure, technology, and reputation.
  • Design and facilitate tabletop exercises across diverse scenarios.
  • Convene and support the Executive Crisis Management Team, ensuring preparedness and alignment on response strategies.
  • Build and preserve an accessible library of crisis management policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Partner closely with Communications, HR, Legal, Global Security, and Technology to ensure integrated and effective response capabilities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10-15 years of experience in financial services or other large corporations with a focus on crisis management and/or business resiliency.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks and guidelines.
  • Proven track record to engage and influence partners across all levels of the organization, particularly senior leaders, to solve complex and cross functional challenges.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, with a record of driving actionable outcomes.
  • Experience in emergency response and handling critical situations.
  • Professional certifications such as DRI (CBCP), or BCM (DRCP, DRCS) certifications (helpful but not required).
  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree or equivalent experience.

The Crisis Management and Critical Events team belongs to the enterprise risk management group. Our group of dedicated professionals is responsible for developing and accomplishing the company's resiliency strategy, ensuring continuity of operations during disruptions.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-222,000 USD per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
