Job Description
The VP, Chief of Staff is the SVP & Head of Marketing's strategic partner, operational leader, and force multiplier-driving clarity, alignment, and execution across the marketing organization. Acting as an extension of the Head of Marketing, this role ensures the department's strategic priorities result in coordinated action, high-quality decision-making, and measurable impact.
You will shape and orchestrate the marketing leadership operating model, ensuring that the Head of Marketing's priorities translate into clear, coordinated execution across senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and the marketing leadership team and employees. You will be responsible for aligning strategy, driving key transformation initiatives, and elevating leadership performance and communication across a complex, fast-moving environment.

You will serve as a key enabler-expanding the Head of Marketing's capacity to accelerate priorities and advance initiatives across the marketing division.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Executive Alignment
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Head of Marketing, providing strategic insight, identifying risks, anticipating needs, and ensuring focus on the highest-impact priorities.
- Extend the Head of Marketing's effectiveness by building positive relationships across the organization while driving clarity; simplifying complexity; and enabling rapid, informed decision-making.
- Lead high-impact, ambitious initiatives on behalf of the Head of Marketing and represent the Head of Marketing in meetings and working groups, driving initiatives forward with authority and alignment.
Marketing Division Planning & Performance
- Lead the full marketing planning and performance lifecycle, including annual/quarterly planning, OKRs/KPIs, QBRs, budget cycles, and strategic offsites.
- Partner with Finance to identify optimization opportunities and oversee spend transparency, vendor management, forecasting, and performance analytics.
- Drive a consistent, efficient operating model that aligns senior leaders and connects marketing priorities to enterprise goals.
Executive Communications & Leadership Visibility
- Build and operate a comprehensive, executive communications framework-including all-hands, leadership communications, operational updates, etc.
- Create executive-ready presentations and cross-functional communications that influence and align senior audiences.
Cross-Functional Orchestration & Strategic Programs
- Ensure visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies across marketing initiatives.
- Identify operational gaps across teams, functions, and segments; develop solutions to increase efficiency, scalability, and cross-team connection.
Organizational Leadership & People Operations
- Manage end-to-end leadership operations including talent planning, promotions cycles, recognition programs, morale/engagement efforts, and VP/Sr. Director development.
- Guide marketing leaders through continuous cycles of improvement-simplifying workflows, improving cross-functional understanding, and reinforcing organizational priorities.
- Ensure leaders have the systems, insights, and communication structures needed to operate at peak performance.
Candidate Qualifications
- 10+ years of varied Marketing experience with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. In addition, management consulting experience is a plus.
- Business- or enterprise-level marketing depth, ideally including an understanding of brand or digital marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Demonstrated success advising, influencing, and partnering with senior-level executives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with mastery in executive storytelling; narrative development; and building high-quality, executive-level materials (presentations, briefings, business reviews) with meticulous attention to detail with demanding deadlines.
- Strong analytical, operational, and project leadership capabilities; experienced in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI-driven management.
- Highly agile, with sound judgement, autonomy, discretion, and the ability to lead through ambiguity.
- Strong ability to triage, prioritize, make decisions, and keep stakeholders aligned while removing roadblocks for senior leadership.
- Experience managing teams and developing senior-level talent.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, a frequent requirement.
- Demonstrated results orientation and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Target Pay Range: $250,000 - 350,000

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
