Job Description

As a valued contributor on our Multifamily Risk team, you will serve as a trusted advisor and portfolio manager, providing strategic guidance on portfolio administration, asset management, and operational execution across an assigned multifamily portfolio. You will have primary responsibility for a portfolio of REO assets and advise team members on management and strategic direction of each asset, as well as business processes, analytical methodologies, and modeling techniques while driving continuous improvement in portfolio management and risk oversight. In this role, you will recommend enhancements to end-to-end business processes, leverage enterprise systems to improve reporting and operational effectiveness, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute on best practices for managing multifamily asset portfolios, including portfolio administration, operational execution, and strategic planning.
  • Support the portfolio's vision and strategic objectives by providing recommendations that improve portfolio performance, operational effectiveness, and risk management.
  • Review portfolio performance, financial trends, and operational metrics to identify opportunities, emerging risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Recommend enhancements to portfolio reporting and provide actionable insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and manage the risk profile of current assets by assessing financial performance, operational trends, and market conditions.
  • Review governance practices, internal controls, and portfolio management processes to ensure compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to end-to-end business processes, reporting capabilities, and enterprise system utilization to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
  • Develop and communicate analyses, reports, dashboards, and presentations that support strategic planning and portfolio oversight.
  • Partner with Asset Management, Risk, Underwriting, Servicing, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve complex portfolio issues and support enterprise initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for portfolio management practices, providing guidance on complex business issues and contributing to organizational knowledge sharing.
  • Support strategic initiatives, process improvement efforts, and change management activities that strengthen Multifamily Risk operations.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing expertise, providing coaching, and collaborating on asset management and portfolio analysis.

Minimum Required Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in multifamily lending, commercial real estate, asset management, portfolio management, risk management, financial analysis, loan servicing, or a related financial services environment.
  • Experience with distressed multifamily real estate, workouts, foreclosures, REO, or other related issues
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve business processes, reporting, and analytical capabilities.

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or advising on multifamily or commercial real estate portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily finance, commercial real estate lending, asset management, portfolio strategy, and risk management principles.
  • Experience evaluating portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks, and recommending strategic solutions.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, internal controls, and regulatory requirements within a highly regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience using enterprise systems, reporting platforms, and advanced Microsoft Excel to analyze complex data and communicate business insights.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations to senior leadership.
