Description

We are looking for a Mid level Software Engineer to join the Brazil-based DataHub squad, contributing to the delivery of global Mappers and DataHub integrations. In this role, you will grow as a full-stack engineer, developing Java/Spring backend capabilities while gaining hands-on experience with Angular or React under guidance from senior engineers and the Engineering Manager. You will collaborate with global teams, including KL and North America, helping expand DataHub integrations and supporting Brazil's role as a key hub for self-service data capabilities. This position emphasizes learning, strong engineering foundations, and continuous development in a global environment.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver well-scoped features, bug fixes, and tests with increasing autonomy, while proactively raising risks or uncertainties.
  • Contribute to backend development using Java and Spring Boot, and support frontend tasks (Angular or React) with guidance.
  • Write and expand unit, integration, and acceptance tests under mentorship, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Follow code reviews closely, improving code readability, applying feedback, and addressing SonarQube and security findings.
  • Learn and apply CI/CD practices, including Jenkins pipelines, environment promotions, and resolving common pipeline issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, QA, DevOps/SRE, and global teams, communicating blockers early and clearly.
  • Participate in monitoring activities and incident response drills, developing operational awareness for owned services.
  • Contribute to OpenAPI documentation and follow best practices in API design with review support.
  • Support the adoption of inner-source practices and collaborate with global DataHub and regional teams when required.
  • Use AI-assisted tools responsibly under senior guidance, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper validation.

Qualifications

  • What we expect from you
  • Hands-on experience in software development (typically ~1-3 years, including internships or relevant projects).
  • Solid foundation in Java and object-oriented programming, with willingness to grow in Spring Boot.
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (Angular or React) or strong interest in developing full-stack skills.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with testing concepts (unit testing required; integration and automation as a plus with mentorship).
  • Exposure to CI/CD concepts and willingness to learn deployment pipelines and release processes.
  • Basic knowledge or exposure to cloud environments (AWS), containers, or Kubernetes (learning mindset expected).
  • Understanding of code quality and security practices using tools such as SonarQube and security scanners (guided usage acceptable).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a team environment.
  • Proactive learning attitude, openness to feedback, and ability to grow with mentorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (mandatory) and Portuguese for local collaboration.
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) with a responsible and guided approach.
