Description

The Director of Collections reports to the Managing Director of Software Solutions and is responsible for the strategic leadership, commercial outcomes, governance, and successful delivery of the Collections portfolio. The role provides end-to-end accountability for Project Initiation and delivery, customer outcomes, financial performance, ongoing production service and continuous improvement. The role requires leadership in a matrix environment collaborating with key stakeholders across Product, Delivery, Operations and Support.

A successful Director of Collections is a strategic leader who combines strong business acumen with exceptional delivery expertise. They excel at navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and ensuring programs deliver measurable business value. They foster collaboration, champion continuous improvement, and create an environment where teams can consistently achieve high-impact outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Collections Strategic Leadership / Program Management
• Own the end-to-end software program portfolio from initiation through implementation and ongoing production service.
• Lead multiple concurrent software programs, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations.
• Implement structure and processes to ensure consistency and quality of Functional and Technical solution designs in conjunction with the Enterprise Architect.
• Develop and execute the software delivery strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
• Ensure interdependencies across all collections projects are effectively managed.
• Oversee resource planning and capacity management for the Collections Portfolio working closely with the Head of Delivery Services
• Lead organisational transformation initiatives that improve Collections delivery capability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Collections Enterprise Architect to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, automation, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

More about you
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong Credit Risk knowledge, especially Collection and Financial Services.
- Knowledge and experience of the Software Delivery Lifecycle.
- Experience working within an Agile environment
- Experienced with overseeing large programs of work with multiple concurrent projects
- Possess a Degree in Business Computing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or equivalent industry
- and technical qualifications or experience
- Great relationship building skills with proactive management of internal and external stakeholders
