A leading North American financial services provider operating across personal, commercial, wealth management, and capital markets sectors. Following recent strategic acquisitions, the top-tier bank has significantly expanded its international footprint. Now executing an "AI-first" strategy, the organization has launched a dedicated institute for applied AI and quantum computing to drive productivity and deliver hyper-personalized digital experiences for millions of global customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and high-quality code
  • Build scalable and maintainable solutions aligned with architectural standards and technology strategy
  • Develop and maintain reusable components and common assets
  • Write unit tests and support defect-free software delivery
  • Support production issues, including root-cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
  • Evaluate technologies and recommend improvements to processes and systems
  • Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions
  • Contribute to development frameworks, standards, and operational programs
  • Recommend and automate approaches to improve efficiency and streamline processes
  • Mentor team members and contribute to communities of practice
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Support project deliverables and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

  • Strong experience with React and modern frontend development
  • Exceptional proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with React frameworks and libraries such as: TanStack Query, React Router, Zustand, Redux, Atom or similar state management libraries
  • Experience building Native Web Components
  • Experience developing Vanilla JavaScript applications
  • Experience with Vite and other JavaScript task runners
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with JUnit
  • Understanding of software development practices and engineering principles
  • Ability to code independently with minimal oversight
  • Understanding of operating systems, development environments, and deployment practices
  • Familiarity with the broader application ecosystem and integration considerations
  • Commitment to code quality, maintainability, and software craftsmanship
  • Experience translating business requirements into detailed design specifications
  • Ability to design scalable and supportable solutions
  • Experience performing unit testing and producing technical documentation
  • Understanding of architectural patterns and technology strategies
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities
  • Experience evaluating technical solutions and recommending optimal designs

  • Compensation Transparency: The expected compensation range for this role is $60-78/hr CAD, with eligibility for commission, bonus, or other incentive compensation where applicable. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location within Canada, and business needs.
