Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Staff Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud platform capabilities used by engineering teams. The role focuses on platform architecture, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, CI/CD and DevSecOps, with end-to-end ownership of production services. This is an engineering role rather than a cloud administration role.
Platform Engineering & Architecture
- Translate engineering requirements into scalable, secure, reliable platform capabilities and self-service tooling.
- Design cloud and platform solutions across compute, networking, identity, Kubernetes, and managed services.
- Lead technical design reviews and influence architecture and engineering practices across teams.
Engineering & Automation
- Build and maintain platform services, automation, developer tooling, and reusable Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.
- Use Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin for platform tooling and systems integration.
Kubernetes, CI/CD & DevSecOps
- Operate and improve production Kubernetes/container platforms and deployment patterns.
- Build and maintain secure CI/CD and GitOps workflows across build, test, scan, deployment, and rollback.
- Integrate security and policy controls into platform and delivery pipelines.
Service Ownership & Reliability
- Own platform capabilities end-to-end from design and implementation through production support.
- Drive reliability, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reduction of operational toil.
- Partner with engineering, security, networking, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex technical problems.
Technical Leadership
- Lead significant technical initiatives and make pragmatic decisions balancing reliability, security, cost, and engineering productivity.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with production cloud infrastructure.
- Strong Kubernetes experience, preferably with EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Strong Terraform/IaC experience; Terragrunt is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and DevSecOps practices.
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, automation, and production operations.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
