Job Summary

The EMEA Social Media Manager serves as the regional lead and strategic partner for social media across the EMEA region. Operating within the Global Social Media Team, this role is responsible for translating Equinix's global social media strategy into regionally and locally relevant approaches that support EMEA marketing and communications objectives. The role operates at the intersection of global strategy, regional priorities, and hands-on execution, ensuring social media activity across EMEA is coherent, value-driven, and aligned to functional goals. Success depends on strategic judgment, strong cross-functional relationships, and disciplined prioritization.

Regional Organic Social Strategy & Governance

Owns and operationalizes the EMEA organic social media strategy, ensuring alignment with global direction and regional business priorities.

Strategy & Planning

  • Maintains and tracks the EMEA regional social content calendar, integrating global, regional, and country-level activity


  • Ensures coherence, prioritization, and strategic focus across EMEA markets, avoiding fragmentation or low-value output


  • Acts as the integration point between global social strategy, EMEA marketing and communications priorities, and country-level execution


  • Provides guidance on what content should be elevated regionally, what should remain local, and what should not be pursued on corporate channels


  • Proactively identifies possible improvements to social media programs and ways of working


  • Maintains awareness of platform trends, algorithm changes, and B2B social media best practices to continually refine regional approach

Governance & Content Operations

  • Supports corporate social media content governance policies, ensuring EMEA contributions adhere to the globally defined content contribution and approval workflow


  • Applies regional judgment and prioritization within established guardrails


  • Manages and enforces structured intake and prioritization processes (e.g., via Smartsheet request forms) to maintain strategic focus and manage stakeholder expectations


  • Determines global/local relevance, coordinating with regional and local peers and adapting content as needed


  • Responsible for publishing and scheduling approved content via Sprout Social in accordance with the master communications plan

Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Effectively maintains and utilizes relationships with key stakeholders across EMEA Marketing, Communications, and regional leadership


  • Proactively communicates with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely information is used for content creation and campaign planning


  • Educates and aligns cross-functional partners on the strategic role of social media, its appropriate use cases, and its limitations


  • Maintains agency relationships and expectations, ensuring quality deliverables are received on time


  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors social media projects from brief to execution, communicating scope, schedule, and resource considerations to relevant stakeholders

Measurement & Reporting

  • Oversees EMEA social media performance reporting, ensuring data integrity and meaningful correlation to business objectives


  • Produces and distributes regular management reports on relevant organic social metrics


  • Uses performance data to support prioritization decisions and frame informed conversations with stakeholders and leadership


  • Reports against goals set in partnership with the Global Social Media Team, using agreed measurement frameworks (e.g., Sprout Social)

Regional Champion, Employee & Executive Advocacy Program

Serves as the EMEA regional champion for Equinix's global Employee & Executive Advocacy Program, driving regional adoption and enablement in partnership with the global program lead.

Program Enablement & Adoption

  • Contributes regional and country-level content for executive & employee amplification via Sprout Advocacy


  • Reviews and approves regional and country-level content contributions from regional contributors


  • Drives regional adoption of the employee & executive advocacy program, partnering with Field Marketing, Executive Communications team, and country teams to expand participation among SMEs, sales teams, and customer-facing roles


  • Delivers enablement through training, coaching, demos, and best-practice sharing across EMEA markets


  • Serves as the regional point of contact between global advocacy leadership and EMEA stakeholders


  • Monitors adoption patterns across markets and provides input on strategies to address variability or low engagement

Qualifications

  • previous experience in social media management (preferred), digital marketing, or communications, with a strong emphasis on B2B or enterprise environments


  • Demonstrated experience managing organic social media strategy and content programs, ideally within a global or regional team structure


  • Familiarity with employee advocacy programs and executive social media enablement


  • Experience working across multiple EMEA markets, with an understanding of regional cultural and linguistic considerations


  • Proficiency with social media management platforms, particularly Sprout Social, including publishing, scheduling, and analytics


  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, markets, and platforms


  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders without direct authority


  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strategic focus in a fast-paced, lean team environment


  • Familiarity with social media performance metrics and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations


  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred
