Job Summary
You'll design, build, and own the tooling that powers Equinix's API ecosystem. This includes API governance and specifications, SDK/IaC/documentation generation, and developer platform workflows-running on Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. You'll lead technically across teams, improve developer experience, and raise reliability through automation (including AI-assisted checks).
What You'll Do
API & Platform Engineering
- Define and evolve API lifecycle standards (OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, deprecation, backward compatibility).
- Build and operate pipelines that generate SDKs, Terraform providers/modules, and documentation from API specifications.
- Align API designs with gateways/edge and identity/security to ensure scalable, secure integrations.
Development & Automation
- Build core tooling in Go and/or Python (generators, validators, CI helpers, release tooling).
- Own CI/CD for API tooling and developer platforms (build, test, release, rollback).
- Use automation and AI-assisted workflows to reduce toil with deterministic verification and human review gates.
Reliability & Operations
- Own SLOs, observability, alerting, and runbooks for ecosystem pipelines.
- Lead incident response and post-incident improvements across validation, generation, and platform builds.
- Apply safe change management practices (canaries, feature flags, staged rollouts).
Enablement & Leadership
- Act as a champion for developer experience and API usability.
- Provide high-leverage reviews and guidance to teams integrating or changing APIs and tooling.
- Lead multi-team initiatives across specifications, generators, IaC releases, and developer platform upgrades.
What You'll Bring
- Senior Staff-level experience building and operating production systems or internal developer platforms.
- Deep experience with API lifecycle management and governance (OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, compatibility).
- Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (providers and modules), Kubernetes, and Linux-based CI/CD.
- Familiarity with gateways/edge technologies (e.g., Apigee, ALB, Ingress, Envoy) and identity/authorization patterns.
- An automation-first mindset and comfort owning systems end-to-end while leading through influence.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SDK generation for multi-language clients and compatibility testing.
- Experience with developer and documentation platforms (e.g., Docusaurus, Backstage, Confluence), including plugins and build integrations.
- Experience with MCP and safe agentic/AI workflows for developer tooling.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Poland - Warsaw Office WAO : 257,000 - 425,000 PLN / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
