Senior Design Manager - Digital Delivery

This position is within the Global Design and Construction team (over 200no. people) who deliver over 70no. construction projects globally per year (in excess of $1B capex).

GDC's Global Process and Optimisation team is accountable for the development and roll out of global design focused process and optimization initiatives within our design and construction delivery team. The GPO team is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the design KPIs, providing assistance to delivery teams and providing the Digital Data delivery process and conversion to our site operation teams.

Job Summary:

The Senior Design Manager - Digital Delivery oversees the crucial link between Design & Construction and Operations, ensuring that digital spatial data is delivered in a way that enables Operations to function efficiently. The role involves managing the team that standardise, and centralise data across various platforms, while overseeing automated processes that support the operational environment.

This role ensures that the digital data delivery team globally effectively deliver and optimize, seamlessly integration from design and construction into an operational site.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of the delivery and processes for Digital Data to the business and our operational teams across strategic global construction programs. Builds effective relationships with global stakeholders both providing and receiving the Digital Data.

Data Standardization and Delivery

• Ensure that digital data processes from design and construction is standardized and formatted to meet operational needs and aligned with key global stakeholders.

• Records and maintains the process documentation to provide a repeatable, timely & accurate service in the production of deliverables.

• Facilitates the smooth transition of data from project design to operational workflows.

Operational Support

• Work closely with Operations to ensure data is provided in a format that is easily accessible and functional for day-to-day operations.

• Act as the point of contact for resolving data-related issues that impact Operations.

• Provides training in the operation of VDC related updates and ensures demarcation of deliverables is clear amongst the stakeholder.

Automation and Process Management

• Manage virtual machines (VMs) that run critical batch processes, ensuring smooth and reliable data delivery.

• Oversee automation of data processes to streamline the flow from design to operational use.

Collaboration and Integration

• Collaborate with Design & Construction teams to ensure their data outputs align with operational requirements.

• Maintain close communication with Operations to ensure they are equipped with the necessary data for capacity and operational planning.

ContinuousImprovement

• Proactively seek ways to improve data delivery processes, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of Operations.

• Stay updated on industry best practices to enhance the efficiency of digital data management.

• Monitors the global performance of the digital delivery team to meet defined SLAs and implement action improvement plans & processes, as required.

Project/Program Delivery

• Responsible for the team delivering companywide/regional digital delivery packages for construction projects.

• Responsible for implementing processes and procedures to aid in design and construction project controls and oversight.

• Manage the model quality health checks and external Project Team communication

• Track & record Digital Delivery progress across global projects

Resource Management (people, finances etc.)

• Responsible for resources to deliver the companies Digital Data Delivery for construction projects to Operations, including budget management/controls.

• Managers external consultants to provide adds-ins and drawing automation deliverables to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience preferred

• Experience in managing Digital Data Delivery, particularly in bridging design and operational workflows.

• Familiarity with CAD & Revit platforms, and spatial data management.

• Ability to manage and optimize automated processes, including Virtual machine oversight.

• Strong communication skills to lead the collaboration across departments and ensure alignment between design and operational needs.
