Job Summary
The Director, Industry Value Engineering at Equinix is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping, quantifying, and articulating the business value of Equinix's platform and solutions. This role blends top-tier consulting rigor, capital markets expertise, deep vertical insight, and exceptional storytelling to build defensible ROI models, executive-ready business cases, and compelling customer value narratives.
This individual will help build and scale the Value Engineering function at Equinix, operating as a true player-coach. The right candidate brings extensive consulting experience, a strong customer-facing background, and a track record of enabling organizations to drive clear business outcomes through ROI analysis and structured value justification.
You will partner closely with Equinix Marketing to define value creation frameworks and business-case justification that enable marketers to become powerful storytellers, amplifying Equinix's differentiated industry value. You will also collaborate across Sales, Product, Advisory, Industry, and Strategy teams as Equinix evolves through major digital and AI-driven transformations.

Responsibilities
Value Engineering Leadership
- Own the development of Equinix-aligned, customer-specific and industry-specific ROI models, business cases, and value frameworks using commercially grounded and defensible assumptions
- Translate complex industry and customer dynamics into crisp, compelling value narratives aligned to Equinix's platform and value proposition
- Produce tangible, high-quality deliverables - especially Excel-based financial models, scenario analyses, business justification packs, and customer-ready value storytelling assets
- Operate as a player-coach: executing hands-on modeling and analysis while mentoring team members, building repeatable methodologies, and shaping the Value Engineering discipline at Equinix
Ecosystem Strategy & Industry Insight (Capital Markets Focus)
- Analyze the capital markets landscape to identify high-value use cases for Equinix-enabled infrastructure (e.g., low-latency trading, market data aggregation, multi-cloud connectivity)
- Develop economic value analyses that demonstrate the incremental value of Equinix vs. traditional approaches, highlighting measurable ROI and competitive advantages
- Identify buyer profiles and key purchase criteria for HFT (high-frequency trading) and adjacent segments such as market makers, quant firms, exchanges, and liquidity providers
- Partner with Marketing, Sales and Solutions Architecture to unlock complex, high-impact deployments requiring deep capital markets understanding and ecosystem orchestration
Industry Strategy & Insights
- Bring deep Capital Markets expertise with additional exposure to Financial Services, Life Sciences, Industrial, or other key verticals
- Apply structured, hypothesis-driven thinking to assess customer environments and identify material value drivers across industries where Equinix competes
- Integrate trends in AI, automation, cloud migration, and digital transformation into value frameworks and customer-facing business cases
Collaboration With Equinix Marketing
- Partner closely with the Equinix Marketing organization to define value creation narratives and business-case justification that enable compelling storytelling across campaigns and GTM initiatives
- Deliver insights that strengthen content such as whitepapers, value frameworks, customer stories, and industry POVs grounded in quantifiable value
- Ensure messaging reflects real-world customer impact and the differentiated value of the Equinix platform
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as a strategic partner across Equinix Sales, Advisory, Product, Marketing, and Strategy teams to improve deal quality, accelerate sales cycles, and drive stronger customer outcomes
- Help build and scale new processes, tools, methodologies, and operating models for a growing Value Engineering function
Qualifications
Experience & Background
- 10+ years of professional experience, ideally with top-tier management consulting firm at the Associate or Senior Associate level or equivalent strategic roles
- Experience with leading or supporting consulting projects (preferably digital infrastructure) demonstrating the ability to quickly enter complex problem environments and deliver immediate value
- Strong business and industry acumen
- Capital Markets expertise is required; additional experience in Financial Services, Life Sciences, Industrial, or other key verticals is a plus
- Experience in AI-driven or digital transformation engagements is required
- Proven customer-facing experience with a track record of driving business outcomes through clear business case development and ROI analysis
Skills & Competencies
- Mastery of Excel-based financial modeling, scenario planning, and multi-year ROI/business case development
- Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling, executive-ready value narratives
- Comfort operating in ambiguity with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and analytical rigor
- Strong influence and relationship-building skills across Equinix Sales, Marketing, Product, and executive stakeholders
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - New York City Office NYO1 : 171,000 - 257,000 USD / Annual
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 155,000 - 233,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
