JOB OVERVIEW:
EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants' Birmingham, Alabama office is hiring Fall 2026 Commercial/Risk Management & Insurance interns. These opportunities could potentially continue into summer of 2027.
These opportunities are ONLY open to students currently enrolled in a 4-yr college/university (preferably students going into their senior year) who are able to work at least 15 hours a week in our Birmingham office (5 days a week). This is a paid internship.
LOCATION: Birmingham, Alabama - 15+ hours a week in-office during college year 2026-2027 (starting September 2026)
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Commercial/Risk Management & Insurance Intern will participate in the following activities:
- Breakfast/lunch/dinner meetings with clients, partners and prospects accompanied by other members of the company
- Internal/external business meetings with clients accompanied by other members of the company
- Insurance carrier meetings
- Professional seminars/industry meetings
- Job shadow of all consulting services offered by the company
- Research and analyze information relevant to business development
- Sit in on claims and litigation calls with consultants, adjusters, legal counsel, etc.
- Read and discuss various reports and documents (policy coverage forms, claims details, litigation reports, etc.)
- Assist with the development of client presentations
- General office procedures including data entry, scanning, collating informational packets, trafficking calls, etc.
- Corporate social events such as company picnics/celebrations
- Other miscellaneous projects as needed
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Extreme attention to detail; critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self‐motivated with the ability to work both independently and with a team
- Excellent customer service skills to manage both internal and external clients
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to be punctual, reliable and professional
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- REQUIRED: Must be currently enrolled full-time in a 4-year college or university
- Minimum of at least 3.0 GPA
- Preferred: Risk Management, Insurance, or Business Majors
