We are seeking an ambitious Commercial Insurance - Technical Assistant to join our team to support our account management team & gain experience with a wide spectrum of commercial insurance lines including casualty, property, workers comp, E&O, D&O Cyber-Liability coverages.
LOCATION: In-Office, 5 days a week in our Austin, TX office. Must be willing & able to work from 9am-6pm Monday thru Friday.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Candidates with strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal. Ideal candidates can successfully pivot between providing detailed and accurate written communication, as well as picking up the phone and having a detailed verbal conversation.
- Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and consistently are quick to respond to and/or acknowledge communications (both from internal & external sources).
- Positive and outgoing disposition, eager to work as a team but also functions well working independently.
- At least 1+ year of experience working for an insurance agency, broker or carrier.
- Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and who love problem solving and coming up with solutions and answers to client questions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):
- Effective and timely communication with all clients - email, letters & telephone
- Assist in the compilation and organization of underwriting information
- Prepare insurance applications for required coverage lines
- Put together accurate, timely, professional and compliant insurance summaries
- Issuance of certificates of insurance and coverage binders
- Checking and issuing of insurance documentation
- Preparation of premium invoices and client accounting statements
- Complete various reports as required throughout the insurance cycle
- Maintain and update electronic client files
- Minimized aged debt
- Such other duties as the Senior or line management may from time to time require
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in commercial technical assistant role
- Current property/casualty license is strongly preferred
- Experience with agency management software (preferably Sagitta)
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of commercial insurance lines
- Proven ability to handle certificate issuance, policy review and initial underwriting applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Compensation dependent upon qualifications
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, education, internal equity, and market data. This role may also be eligible for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
